Salem Witch Hunt

The Salem Witch Hunt consisted of four cities. They were Salem Village, Salem Town, Ipswich, and Andover. They started with a 9 year old and her 11 year old cousin began to scream, say strange things, and put themselves in weird positions. The doctor could not find any cure for this "disease", and other women began to have similar symptoms. A woman of the Church, was accused of being a witch. If a person of the Church was a witch, then anybody could be one. Afterward, many women were being accused of being witches, and were killed. Men, also could be witches.

Until 1693, many people were killed, accused of being a witch. Five people were found not guilty, Susannah Post, Eunice Frye, Mary Bridges Jr., Mary Barker, and William Barker Jr. This became the end of the Salem Witch Hunt. Only twenty people were actually tried, and executed. They were executed by being hanged, tied to a chair and thrown in water, etc. One thing I don't get is how do they prove they are a witch? Why not just throw a bucket of water on the "witch" and see if she melts like the Wizard of Oz?

The Salem Witch Hunt reminds me of the movie The Covenant. In the movie, there are four "witches", all males. They are the four witches of Ipswich, and all have different powers. The more they use their power, the more addicting it gets. The downside to their power is they age faster as they use it. The four are almost of age where their power grows stronger. They meet another witch, the fifth brother. They learn that one of the people that was supposed to be executed during the Salem Witch Hunt escaped. This new witch is addicted to his power, and abuses it. The oldest of the four defeats him, after his father "wills" him his power.
